Urology derives from the Greek meaning the “study of urine”. It is also known as a genitourinary speciality, which is a branch that focuses on surgical and medical diseases of the male and female urinary tract system and the male reproductive organs. The latter includes both investigation and management of infertility related issues as well as erectile dysfunction.
The urologist is the doctor that one needs to speak if he/she has any problems with passing urine, urinary infections, urinary incontinence, prostate problems, urinary tract stones and cancers of the kidney, bladder, prostate and testicles.
